Myrtle Part Deux

As promised...here's a revisit, photo-overload-style, of our trip to Myrtle Beach for spring break, along with my meet-up with my fellow April 2011 girl and former labor buddy.

On the only day that was not beach-worthy, my mom and I took the kids to the local children's museum.  It was tons of fun for T, and equally as jolly-worthy for us science geeks.  We were in heaven.

This was a bubble you could make around yourself.  T could get it above his head.  It was so cool!

 Sibling bonding in the tub
I was also fortunate enough to meet up with my former labor buddy and her cutie pie, Andrew while in SC on vacation.  Kelly, of Baby W is on the Way, and I got very close via the internet through our April 2011 birth month group.  We've kept in touch and followed each other ever since.  I think we would definitely hang out if we lived close to each other, as we're both working, running mommies.  I was so glad she agreed to meet and have lunch with us.  She picked a cute little town called Georgetown, and we ate at an adorable deli on the pier.  Andrew was a bit hesitant of our little flirting hussy, but they shared a pickle during lunch, so I think it's all good.  I head back down south in August, so I'm hoping I didn't scare off Kelly enough so we can get together again.  I know I very much enjoyed our meet-up!  Kelly is someone that I can now call a friend.
 Here's a peace offering...have my pickle

 More beach fun...

B just wanted to kick her feet furiously.  No lounging with mommy.
 My boys.

See...my mom was there too...she just hates being photographed.  Gotcha mom!
 Frolicking...

B loves her Granddad

Siggy

I've been admiring the signatures of other blogs for months now.  I finally got it figured out.  However, I wasn't sure I wanted to use my real name on my blog, if I ever get my blog to the level I'd like (a girl can dream, right?!).  Although I like the original signature better, I have decided to use my bloggy pseudoname instead.  Is it lame?  What do you think?  Is it L.A.M.E?  I'm not much of a photo editor...I'm still learning.  I can also take the shoes away and add a heart in either case.  I don't know.  I'm torn.  Which one do you like....if any...or do you like my other siggy?

PYHO: For Them or For Me

Are you a perfectionist?  A listmaker?  A bit OCD?  You're not alone.  Keep reading, then go visit Shell @ Things I Can't Say and link up to Pour Your Heart Out.  No judgement, just honesty.

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you know I am a bit of a, shall we say, perfectionist nutcase.  I have been this way my entire life.  I was always a color-in-the-lines type child.
My hubs and others might call me a neurotic, OCD, type-A, list-making, craft-obsessed fool.  I can't deny it.  Such "tendencies" spill over into most things in my life, including that of my childrens' birthday parties.  I tend to go a bit insane overboard with my themes.  I can't deny it.  I like to throw a themed party.  I think I was either a gay wedding planner in my previous life, or I missed my party planner calling in this one.  I obsess over details and get incredibly excited about crafty diy parties.  I would like to think I go through all the stress of planning every little detail for my kids.  I would like to believe that I am doing it so they can look back and remember how amazing each birthday party is.  That is most definitely my original intention.  But as I am nearing yet another milestone birthday, the first birthday of baby B, I am starting to question who these parties are really for.  It's sort of a fabulous sick high that I get from pulling off a theme-dripped event with as much diy and as little green as possible.

If you don't believe me when I say I love themes...click on...
Exhibit A:  T's 1st Fish-themed Bday
Exhibit B:  T's 2nd Trucks Bday
Exhibit C:  BFF's baby shower
Exhibit D:  T's 3rd Bday aka Diego-land
Exhibit E:  T's 4th Baseball Bash Bday
not to mention my SIL's Tiffany-themed bridal shower (pre-blogging) and countless others...
I don't even think the pictures do justice to the obsessive details that went into each party.  I think I'm also getting worse...like a bad virus that won't go away.

I have an illness.  I'm not proud of it. Or maybe I am....   I don't know.

With B's party, the theme will be Secret Garden.  It's all things spring, flowers and bugs.  Problem is...if you go into any store I normally obsessively frequent (aka my mecca...Target) there are a million-and-one cute decorations for half-off, Easter/Spring ideas, colorful and beautiful flower pieces....it's a non-stop spring-themed blow-out.  I.NEED.TO.STOP.  I think I need a support group of some sort...some kind of OPPA...obsessive party planners anonymous.  Aside:  Don't you totally have the song OPP in your head now..."ya, you know me".  I digress...

Regardless, I'm going ahead with my ideas for B's birthday, regardless of whether she'll know the difference or not (thanks, Hubs, for reminding me again and again).  So...just to wet your whistle...here are a few pinterest (another obsession) ideas I'm floating around for the extravaganza.  Stay tuned...

TAT: Photo Op

It was pretty difficult to pick a photo for this week's TAT @ Growing Up Geeky.  Instead of spending countless hours scouring my previous months and years of pictures, I decided to pick one from our recent vacay that makes me chuckle every time I see it.

B adores her big brother.  It melts my heart whenever they interact...even if it's this way.  B was showing her big brother who's boss.  Daddy was the ref.  I call it "The Dig" :)

Come show off your favorite photo!

Our Myrtle Beach Adventure ~ Take 1

For spring break this year, we DROVE down to South Carolina and prayed for decent weather in Myrtle Beach.  Not only did I survive the drive (before I married hubs my maximum drive was 6 hours), but the weather was stellar!  We are fortunate enough to be able to use hubs' company condo for just the right price...free!  We invited my parents along, as they have frequently taken us on great vacations, we're still trying to pay them back.  Plus, it's really wonderful to spend quality time with them, and let them spend some much-needed time with the kiddos.  Our vacation was nothing short of a blessing.  We had 5 of 6 days that were beach-worthy.  As an added bonus, I was able to get together with my former labor buddy, now friend.  More about that later.  I came back relaxed, tan and ready to tackle the last quarter of school and some spring home projects (oh and B's birthday party).  Our exploits definitely require more than one post (so that I don't kill you with my plethora of photos)...so here's your first look:

Hangin' in the pop-up tent (great investment!)

T was so pumped about the ocean he wore his goggles at breakfast
 I know I'm biased but...awwwwweeee!

Granddad and B hanging out...there are a lot of binky pictures, as it's the only way we got her to keep the sand out of her mouth. lol.

Stay tuned for more spring break action...

April Blog Swap Time

It's April.  I can't believe it's here.  It's a very special month in our house.  We have 5 family birthdays this month, and our anniversary is on the 30th.  April is very busy around here.  Hubs is another year older on the 4th, and baby B turns 1 next week.  I just can't believe how fast time flies.

I'm very eager to update you all on our fabulous trip down to South Carolina last week, but our internet is down at home (we hypothesize it's because the neighbors just had their lawn aerated...crap).  No internet at home = no lovely photos of the family vacay.
However, since another month has begun, I'm looking for some more blog sponsors, in the form of a blog swap. Soooo...here are the deets:

Contact me via email and send me your blog button (150x150), I will take your button and post it on my sidebar under my new "Bloggy Lovin'" section.  PLUS I will promote you in a post at least once that month.

All I ask for in return, is the same treatment! You can grab my button on my sidebar, or contact me for the code or jpeg in a particular size!  If you add me to your blog via my button code, just shoot me an email OR leave me a comment here, and I'll do the same for you!

Send me an email to klscherman at gmail dot com if you're interested in swapping.  Hoping to hear from you.  I would love to swap with you!
