Random November

I know I've been lax about updating the blog yet again...but it's been such a busy winter season I have just found the time to upload all the pictures from the past 2 months.

We have been busy with our fiesty 2.5 year old. He had a pretty big growth spurt as of late, growing almost completely out of his 2T pants, as well as going up an entire shoe size in a matter of weeks. He is now speaking in complete sentences, often times saying things we have no idea where he heard or learned them. He often calls for us "come on guys, hurry up" and has begun to say at the dinner table "I don't want it cause I don't like that". Mealtimes have been a struggle. He just doesn't want to stop long enough to eat. So we have been resorting to timeouts to get him to behave at the dinnertable. He is now completely out of his booster seat and sits in a big boy seat with his Diego placemat, so that makes it much harder to keep him at the table. He just started to refuse to sit in his booster...so we make it work. We have also been chugging along with potty training, however it's been a battle everyday. I just don't think he's ready yet. He has now started standing up to pee, which is adorable, but #2 has only been done 2 times thusfar on the potty.

Our other milestone in November/December is the transition to a big-boy bed. It went very smoothly and we are glad to have all the "baby" items taken down and put away. I found an incredible deal on a set from JC Penny (pictures to come soon) that is ALL BOY! He's been great with staying IN his bed (thusfar) and takes naps successfully as well. I'll take 1 of 2...no potty success (ugh how I hate those diaper bills!)...but the big boy bed is a success.

Other than that, Mike and I are still chugging along at our jobs. My cheer season finally came to an end, so that leaves more time for family and my other interests, which is nice. We've also been doing some small household projects and seeing family often. Here are a few random picturs of November.

his most favorite thing to do...read!!! He loves books and often times pretends to spell out words and read, most famously T-I-T. Don't know where he got that from, but it's really embarassing when he does it in the cart at Target or grocery shopping. :)

Ahoy Matey...it's Halloween 2009

Our Halloween this year was spent at our second annual Prostaff Court party. Our cul-de-sac all gets together and has a themed party every year. This year it was pirates (lucky us!). The adults dressed up like pirates and we had a pot luck dinner, bonfire, games for the kids and all handed out candy to the neighborhood together. Our neighbors are a really fun group and we are glad we made the move last summer to such a great street. It's been fun getting to know them and their kids. Unfortunately, our family has been ravaged by the dreaded swine flu (aka the H1N1) for about 2.5 weeks, so we didn't make it a late night. This year Ty did actually trick or treat with Mike. They were out ringing doors for about an hour while I stayed back with the neighbors and handed out candy. Although I'm not sure he remembered in the morning about all the sugar he got (thank God) he had a good time showing off his Wow Wow Wubsy costume. Despite the flu, it was a good Halloween!

Carving pumpkins at the last minute. We've all been sick and haven't felt up to it, so we finally got around to carving one of them the day of. Better late than never I suppose! Ty was really getting "into" it
The Prostaff kids (minus Tyler who decided to have a moment of clingy-ness) during the picture. Note "Michael" holding the newborn on the left (a bit freaky but funny!)

Pillsbury/Hopkins Wedding

Last weekend, I was lucky enough to be part of a special wedding. On October 24th my oldest friend Jenny Pillsbury (she was 7 and I was 8) married her prince charming in WI. I am now officially the wedding singer :), as I sang at my 2nd wedding. Despite my nerves and the cold I was fighting, it went well. Congrats to the new Jenny & John Hopkins! The wedding was beautiful and we all had a great time!
Pictures in the church were hard because I had to sit near the piano and had the glare from the window the entire time. Here's Jen with her Dad walking down the aisle to John

Fall Fun

Lots of random pictures of our September/October that weren't single-post worthy, but still worth sharing. Ty is getting so big and talking up a storm. He truly went from 0 to 60 as far as conversing with us. He had a few words, then all of a sudden he was talking in sentences. It's been incredible watching him learn! He's really enjoying daycare, or "school" as we like to call it, and his "friends". It's hilarious when he comes home talking about his "cool friends" (his words) and can name them all. We're still working on potty training. He sits everyday at daycare but never actually uses the potty and it's stalled at home. We are hoping to put it into full gear around the holidays when I am home for 2 weeks. Fingers crossed these expensive diapers are in memories past when we hit 2010!

Always wanting to be like his Daddy! ..and a man with a vacuum...so hot! :)
many Buckeyes games...and yes we're only watching the game at home (it's our regular Saturday attire!) Loveland Homecoming week...aka never see my family week...but worth it in the end! This is right before our float left on the parade route (my girls are in front in orange)
My 1st place male cheerleading squad (go sophomores class of 2012!).
They caused me so much stress...but it all worked out in the end! Winning is so sweet! Two-peat for us! 7th, 8th, frosh, JV and Varsity Loveland cheer program before the Homecoming football game

Ty and E

In mid-September, my good friend Kimmy and her daughter Eleanor came in town from Cali to visit family and friends. I was lucky enough to see them twice during their trip. Ty and Eleanor are best buds. It was incredibly rewarding to watch them interact and play. They are only 13 days apart and do see each other probably only about 3 or 4 times a year, given the distance. They just fall right back into being the best playmates. I have about a million pictures of them playing. Here are a few of my favs! How cute are they?!...seriously!

Labor Day Weekend

I know, I know...I'm ridiculously behind...again! But I swear I have a good excuse and they are cheerleading and Homecoming! More about that later. But, back in September, we headed up to Michigan yet again to spend a long weekend in Sister Lakes with my family. We were also celebrating my brother's birthday while we were there. Ty is getting more and able to participate in the adventures at the lake, which has been fun. The big milestones this trip were jumping off the dock and swimming freely in the lake and riding on the jet ski with Mike and me. We had a great time, as always!

We were also able to stop by Indy to see my good friends Kelly and Randy, who just had a son (Ethan Christopher) in August.
Seeing what it would be like to be a family of four...yikes. And as you can see...Ty was zonked out the entire time we visited.
