Simple Pleasures

The pictures really speak for themselves. Tyler is always keeping us laughing and can be entertained by the smallest item. Oh...when life was that simple :) Tyler is a blessing, as he helps us remember the small things and laugh often!

Building with blocks...then destroying the towers and throwing blocks everywhere. We literally have these foam blocks in every room of our house, and I clean them up a million times a day. He's obsessed!
Tyler spent a good 20 minutes sticking newspaper on his sweaty feet, on purpose, and walking around with it...laughing hysterically! He was bummed when the newspaper wouldn't stick any longer. The other night at dinner, Tyler decided that a sandwich on his head would be hilarious. Although we shouldn't laugh, we couldn't control our laughter. Fueled by our chuckles...Tyler continued to "feed" his head. It was definitely a bath night that evening:)
When we were in Columbus for the marathon, we stayed in a very nice room at a Holiday Inn. Tyler had an amazing time jumping on the bed and climbing on the millions of gigantic pillows provided to us. He also enjoyed running up and down the hallway in his diaper, hiding in doorways, and laughing hysterically. Of course...we were laughing too!

Boo Bash

On Thursday, our daycare facility had their annual Halloween party, "Boo Bash". Mike and I decided to check it out so we got Tyler dressed in his Halloween costume and went to celebrate. The Boo Bash had games set up in every room, a pasta dinner and a bounce house. Although Ty didn't last more than 45 minutes, we did check out a few games, play outside and fill our bellies with pasta. Tyler even got to see his teachers all dressed up. We had a great time. We don't even think Ty was aware he had a costume on:) We were glad to get some use out of his clearly very expensive (sarcasm) Target costume!

Marathon Completed!

For those of you who haven't heard...I did complete the Columbus Marathon on Sunday. Although I missed Boston qualifying time by a mere stinking 3 minutes and 31 seconds (argh!) I did get my PR (by 10 minutes), crossing the finish line in 3hours, 43minutes and 31seconds. I was feeling great and on track at mile 20 to cross in 3 hours and 31 minutes (under Boston qualifying of 3:40) I hit a wall and had to slow down for the last 6! I am very proud of myself, however, for finishing strong...even when I felt like I had NOTHING LEFT! I guess I'll have to strive for Boston next time....which means there will have to be a next time...#8 here I come!

Marathon Countdown

It's been 3 years since I've run 26.2...and in 2 days (on Sunday 10/19) I'll be hoofin' it through the streets of Columbus, Ohio in route to my 7th marathon finish (hopefully!). I'm more nervous this time than I've been for others because it's been so long and...lets face it...training can't really be my first priority these days. I'm just hoping to finish with a strong time and compete with my old times from previous runs. Please think of me! I need all the good vibes I can get!

Picking the Perfect Pumpkin while Perspiring

So I never thought that we'd be picking pumpkins in 80 degree weather in the middle of October...yet...there we were, sweating bullets and trapsing through the local pumpkin patch. Although it was hot, we had a fabulous time doing all the pumpkin farm favorites; hayride, petting zoo, pumpkin picking, apple pie, cider, corn maze...the works. Ty had a great time exploring and picking his pumpkin. He was a bit hesitant on the hayride, but warmed up to it. We were a little disappointed because the sign we used last year to gauge his growth over the years was nowhere to be found:( Oh well!

Ty last year @ 4 months...wow it goes fast!

And this year...15 1/2 months

Grams & Granddad come to town

Last weekend my parents came in town. We moved in July and my dad hadn't seen the new house yet, so they came to see the house...okay...lets face it...they came to see Tyler! :) It was a nice, relaxing weekend. They came to my game to watch my cheerleaders, and a little Loveland football, we made dinner together and we took Ty to the park. It was too short...but we are always glad when they make the trip. Ty had an amazing time soaking up all the love and attention. He even did his best performance and showed the Grandparents a whopper of a tantrum:) I think my mom laughed the hardest when she realized that I was getting what I deserved after being a tantrum thower myself. Ty is still the cutest 15 month old we know...even when he's wriggling and screaming on the floor.
